Congratulations Grant
Congratulations go out to Junior High student, Grant, for qualifying to represent
St. Gilbert School at the state level of the National Geographic Bee, sponsored by Google and Plum Creek.
 Grant joins 3 other St. Gilbert students who achieved this accomplishment in the last 19 years. Way to go Grant and Good Luck!!!
  
Preschool
We are excited to announce that St. Gilbert School will open a Preschool for the
2010-2011 school year. Please see the flyer and application for more details. If you have already registered at a different preschool for next year, your child’s registration fee for preschool will be waived with proof of that registration. We are excited about this new endeavor and thank your for considering our new preschool. Click for more information:

Weekly Mail
The weekly mail has moved to its own page within our website. To get to the page, look to the left under “Quick Links” for the “Weekly Mail” link and click it. On the page you will find links to all of the flyers and documents that came home for the current week. We also are listing links to documents for ongoing events.  
  

New Accelerated Reader widget

 At the bottom of our homepage, you will find a widget that updates every time a student takes an Accelerated Reader test. This widget will display the number of books and words that students have taken A/R tests for during the current month. The last few books that students took A/R tests for are displayed as rotating book covers.  
  

Lost & Found

 Please stop by and check the Lost & Found items for anything your child might have misplaced. Any items left behind, will be donated at the end of March.  
   

P.A.D.S. Lunches

 Each Thursday morning, St. Gilbert School donates lunches to the Grayslake P.A.D.S. location. Every week one grade and either all of the girls or boys from that grade donate 1 or more lunches to this worthy cause. Please help us to help others by sending in a lunch or two. This Thursday, March 11th, the 7th grade Boys are scheduled to bring in lunches. But of course, anyone that would like to donate a lunch on Thursday may send it in to the office by 7:40. Spring Musical Information
Information regarding the spring musical will be posted here when available
Come and experience the fun of Willy Wonka Jr. at the St. Mary’s of the Lake Seminary Auditorium. Play dates are Friday, April 16th & Saturday, April 17th at 7:00 PM.

Applications for the 2010 - 2011 School Year 
Please fill out the application and submit it with a copy of the prospective student’s birth certificate, baptismal certificate, and social security number. A non-refundable application fee of $150 per new family, ($50 for families currently enrolled at St. Gilbert School,) is also to be included with the application forms.
  
Rebels Rock T-shirts   
The "Rebels Rock" T-shirts for the 8th grade fundraiser are still available. The cost is $12 per t-shirt. Click here for the form.
    

Rock Star Parking

One of the Auction items was 3 months of “Rock Star Parking”; a reserved parking space right next to the Principal and Assistant Principal parking spots. A sign is being installed, but until then a temporary sign is in place. Please do not park in this special spot unless, of course, you are the winning bidder at the auction.

 F.U.N. Event  Mother/Son Bowling

The Family School Association is sponsoring a Mother/Son Bowling event on Saturday, April 10th from 3 to 5:30p.m. at Lake Bowl in Round Lake. Click here for more information. Click here for more information.

New Mission Statement

St. Gilbert School is called by God and the faith community of St. Gilbert Catholic parish to offer a quality Catholic education.  We believe and teach the Good News of Jesus Christ and live his mission through service opportunities and academic excellence with a faith perspective.  We foster and enhance the unique gifts of individuals, spiritually and academically, encouraging them to be actively involved in socially responsible ways.
