Accelerated Reader  – AR is a computer program that helps teachers and librarians manage and monitor children’s independent reading practice. Your child picks a book at his own level and reads it at his own pace. When finished, your child takes a short quiz on the computer.

Afterschool Care Program – Afterschool Care is an extended Day Care Program at the school. Hours of Operation are from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. Find more information here.

Athletics – Each season SGS fields some of the best teams in the Northeast Illinois Catholic Conference (N.I.C.C.). Boys & Girls Basketball, Volleyball, Track and Cross-Country, and Girls Softball teams are offered. Find more information here.

Family School Association (F.S.A.) – The Family School Association is made up of St. Gilbert parent volunteers who donate their time, effort, and talents to support the school. Meetings are open to all and you are encouraged and welcome to attend! Small children are welcome too. New ideas and input are encouraged. P.A.D.S. Saint Gilbert Catholic School believes in helping others. Every school year from October through April the Lake County P.A.D.S. (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) provides a warm location for the homeless. On Thursdays, during these months, our classroom take turns bringing in a lunch that the guests of the shelter may take with them when they leave in the morning.
School Advisory Board (S.A.B.) – The School Advisory Board reviews and advises the school on the yearly budget, determines funding sources and acts as a public relations intermediary for the school. Find more information here.
