Archdiocese of Chicago Scholarship Fund

Dear Donors & Supporters,

Please read the following letter regarding the end of the Tax Credit Scholarships and a transition to a new fund organized by the Archdiocese Of Chicago: Office of Catholic Schools.   Catholic Schools Scholarship Fund Letter  We will not be deterred from our efforts to assist families who wish to provide their children with a Catholic education.  We are calling on all the supporters of Catholic education, and we know there are many, to step up to ensure our schools remain strong and vibrant for another 150 years.

Mrs. Kristine Buckley, Principal

In August 2017, the State of Illinois passed a bill that creates a new way to fund scholarships for children who choose to attend private schools through the “Invest in Kids Act.” Through this program, students have access to scholarships that could cover up to 100 percent of tuition and eligible fees.

Individuals and corporations will receive a 75 percent Illinois state tax credit for donations made to a Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO), created to distribute the scholarships. The Archdiocese of Chicago is working with the SGOs: Empower Illinois and Big Shoulders Fund.
